As you may know East Linton Primary School is working towards achieving Rights Respecting School accreditation.

This award programme, run by UNICEF, aims to put the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of a school’s policies, practice and ethos. A rights-respecting school not only teaches about children’s rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships both within school and in the wider community.

Since the start of the school year our pupils have been beginning to learn about children’s rights through a programme of assemblies, display and classwork. We are in the process of forming a committee which will include pupil ambassadors, parents, staff and members of the community.
