Busy first week back!

Happy New Year to you all , I hope that 2019 is a happy and healthy one for you.

We have had a very busy first week back. The staff were all delighted with how quickly the children have settled back into their learning.

This block , up until the February break, there is a focus on health and wellbeing in every class so our pupils have already been exploring different aspects.

As a staff we have worked on tracking pupil progress using the James Nottingham Quadrants and the Leuven’s Scale of Engagement – these tools help us to think deeply about progress, attainment and engagement in learning, for our pupils as individuals and to plan necessary future steps. If interested, you can find out more at https://vimeo.com/119767139

Miss McKay also ran a session for us looking at Making Thinking Visible techniques – approaches to learning which encourage richer thinking and deeper understanding for our learners and ourselves as teachers. If you are interested in finding out more > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQTYcZf40ag

We have a busy term ahead and a calendar and newsletters will be coming your way next week.
