Catch up with P7

The first few pictures in the gallery are of our artwork that we have created in class – African sunsets and Molas from Central America. We’ve enjoyed adding pictures and work to our Around the World in 7 Weeks learning wall to share our learning journey.

Last week we visited Asia. We were lucky enough to have another of our P7 Granny’s join us to share their knowledge. This Granny had worked with a charity in Asia for 19 years, helping to build schools, wells and provide homeless children with supplies. She brought in lots of interesting items, clothes and pictures to share with us and we got to dress up in saris!

This week we are visiting Australia and learning about the Great Barrier Reef. We are continuing writing our stories in Literacy and adding and subtracting fractions in maths.

Our school nurse, Maggie has been visiting us as part of Headstrong, a series of 5 sessions surrounding mental health. We have decorated shoe boxes into ‘happy boxes’ where we are collecting things that provide happy memories. Sadly, our final session is next week.

This week we visited The Risk Factory as part of our previous topic ‘Risks to Health’. The children took part in 10 different scenarios, ranging from fire, to road safety to dangers around the home. This was very exciting!

Our P7s found out who had been selected for East Linton Gala day and were very excited to share this news and their certificates with the class.
