P3 were experimenting further today with solids, liquids and gases. We managed to get a hold of some gallium, an amazing metal which melts in warm water and changes into a beautiful shiny silver coloured liquid which just rolls around the palm of your hand.
We were outdoors learning about the power of gases, we experimented with canister rockets, exploding lunch bags and launched water/air rockets. The water/air rocket was hard work to fill with air using the foot pump but it was worth the effort when it blasted off skyward to the screams of delight from P3. We also experienced air resistance using parachutes.
