Last week Ms Warrender visited Dunbar Grammar School to observe two maths and two English S1 classes in order to aid transition from primary school to secondary. The P7s were very surprised when Ms Warrender came back with some S1 fractions maths questions that they could solve already!
This week we completed our final Headstrong session with Maggie our school nurse. We shared our ‘happy boxes’ with the rest of the class, looking at the memories that we brought in.
Last week the P7s completed their home learning booklets on a country of their choice. Ms Warrender was amazed about the amount of time and effort that the children had put into their booklets. Well done P7!
P7 have completed their topic ‘Around the World in 7 Weeks!’ This week so have travelled to Antarctica and had a look at the different types of wildlife that live there. On Tuesday we had our international food festival, inviting the P7 parents and our P1 buddies in to sample our dishes we had made from countries around the world. Again, the P7s excelled themselves, producing delicious dishes to tempt the taste buds. Our bellies were definitely bulging afterwards! We managed to raise £60 from donations from parents that will go towards our P7 end of year party!
We completed reading our whole class novel, The Hobbit, and so have been watching The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey this week in class, comparing the similarities and differences between the book and the film.
This week we completed our stories, and produced our final drafts. We then created bunny Easter cards and decorated Easter eggs for our competition that will be judged tomorrow by Mrs Gardner.
Councillor Sue Kempson is coming in to assembly tomorrow to present us with our Level 1 certificates and then its off to church!
What a busy term for P7! We wish you all a very Happy Easter!
