Primary three have been busy over the past weeks learning about the ancient Egyptians. They made death masks that look great (if a bit scary!), learning why the ancient Egyptians wore death masks and why they mummified bodies.
They also had a visit from a representative for the National Youth Choir of Scotland to get a taster of what they do in classes. A letter has been sent home should your child wish to join.

As part of their Africa topic, primary 4 have been designing and making African houses. They could make either a traditional house or a modern design. Some chose to work with partners, others on their own. Their designs are all so different, they have been very creative in their ideas. Well done Primary 4, they look great!

Primary 4 have had a busy start to the new term in 2016. They have been working with money. They started off by making money dice. After throwing a dice they had to count out the value of the money. Once they were confident with counting out one amount they threw 2 dice and had to count out two amounts and add them together.

As part of their science and technology project the primary 4 children have been making helicopter blades, they cut out templates and folded them to make the blades. They made a large one and a smaller one. They were checking to see which one hit the ground first. Some children also noticed that some spun clockwise and others anticlockwise. They had to figure out why this was.
They are looking forward to their visit to the Museum of Flight to find out more!
