Key advice for parents and carers In the home the risk of catching or spreading flu/cold like illness can be reduced by:
• Regular hand washing with liquid soap and running water
• Covering nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing
• Using a disposable paper tissue, disposed off immediately after use.

Parent Council EGM notice
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that you all enjoyed the long weekend! In wonderful Scottish fashion we’ve had bright sunshine, rain and hail – four seasons in one weekend (or one day).
Your Parent Council has been busy over the past few months, starting the year with the Quiz Night in January which raised nearly £1000. Many thanks to all participants and sponsors for your support, and to the events and fundraising group for their amazing efforts! The events and fundraising group also ran the Easter Disco for the kids last month. If you’d like to get involved or have any ideas for future events, help is always welcome, and you don’t need to be a member of the Parent Council in order to get involved. It’s a great way to get to know each other, and contribute to your kids’ experience at the school too.
Improving the outdoor space at the school is a priority, and has been for the past few years, however progress has been limited due to uncertainties around the upcoming school expansion and renovation, which is scheduled to be completed by August 2021. In the meantime, small improvements have been made in the garden – we’ve had a generous donation of soil from Caledonian Soil, and the planters at the back have now been re-planted with donated herbs and vegetables, thanks to the hardworking playground group. There are also donated planters at the front, which need to be filled with soil and planted. If you’re able to help the playground group either with labour (adults and kids welcome to help!) or by donating surplus seedlings or plants that have been split, that would be wonderful! Plans are also underway to replace the broken basketball hoop and relocate it to the rear of the school where there’s more space.
The next meeting of the Parent Council will be an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), where the adoption of the proposed updated Constitution and Equality and Fairness Policy will be voted on. The EGM is being held at 7pm on Tuesday, 14th May, at The Crown, East Linton.
