Back to School!

Thank you so much to everyone who came last night to have a peek into their child’s classroom and pick up information about the year ahead. It was great to see the school so busy with parents and excited pupils. We look forward to working with you to achieve the very best we can for our pupils!

A Roaring Success!

We had a fantastic assembly this morning surrounded by lots of “wild animals” to help the Five Sisters Zoo after their awful fire. Every single child was dressed down or dressed up as an animal for our animal themed assembly – huge thanks to David our minister . We raised £250 which is wonderful – well done everyone!

Happy New Year !

Happy New Year to you all – the staff and I hope you have all had a restful and happy holiday and wish you all the very best for 2013 !

Some very important health advice from Parent Council to start off the year !! Please check your child regularly – thank you.

Head lice infection control from the Health Protection Agency. Here is an extract and a link to the website:

Should a child with head lice be kept off school?
• No! The DfEE/DoH guidelines for infection control in schools and nurseries state that there is no need for a child who has head lice to stay away from school.
• One reason for this is that if a child does have lice, he or she will have had them at school for several weeks before diagnosis.
The best way to stop infection is for people to learn how to check their heads for lice.

Christmas Fair

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our Fair on Friday – a staggering £431.12 was raised for our friends at the Lynton Centre. Well done to all our pupils and staff – I am sure you will agree there were some beautiful things on sale ! P6/7 will be singing at the Lynton Centre tomorrow afternoon when we will be combining Friday’s total with other amounts raised and delivering a very special Christmas present !
