It’s that time of year when everything is springing into life so P6 took the opportunity of getting outdoors to enjoy it. We have been tidying up the outdoor courtyard and have planted some seeds. We are taking care of them daily and recorded any changes we see. We have also been outdoors with our rugby lessons, over the past three weeks, we have been learning to pass, run with the ball, attack and defend. We took our maths outdoors too, we have been learning about angles. We looked at art by Kandinsky in which he uses angles, shapes, parallel and perpendicular lines. We then went outdoors and made angles using different natural materials and finally we created some artwork in the style of Kandinsky using angles, shapes and lines.
P3 enjoyed some football fun on Monday with their new coach, Adam.
He will have another session next Monday and then will take the class for the next two Mondays after the Feb break.
Please ensure your child has suitable clothes for outdoor activities eg joggers, trainers, sweatshirt and a bag to take home muddy clothes!
We will be having Mrs Jones as usual on Thurs. Thank you.
Busy afternoon in P1 today. We had a taster session of karate with Chris Ewing we were learning some basic moves, punches and kicks. Great fun!! We then met up with our P7 buddies, we visited the library to get some new books to read and then spent some time with our buddies reading and talking about the kind of books we like to read.
We also had a visit from some cuddly bears called Issac and Newton from Generation Science who taught us all about forces. What a great workshop, we learnt about pushing, pulling, gravity, floating, sinking and friction and had lots of fun along the way.
Thanks to all the parents who handed in junk. We have been learning about robots and how useful they can be to humans. We looked at different designs of robots, like the robot vacum cleaner, the amazing Asimo and we had a visit from Robosapien. We then got down to designing and creating our own robots.
…….but Primary 7 still enjoyed their first Tag Rugby session!

Olympic torch relay P1/2 on PhotoPeach
P1/2 had their own version of the Olympic Torch relay in the playground today. Quinten had made a fabulous torch model as part of a homework task so we used this for our relay. I think we may have some Olympic athletes of the future in the class!!
