This week in primary 2 we have been doing different activities for Maths Week Scotland, we particularly enjoyed getting outside in the sunshine to complete a maths trail! We explored the playground, counting out and making shapes from different objects that we found. We loved using clipboards and working in teams!

P5 took teamwork outside this week when we made pictures using natural materials. We made a Highland Coo, a unicorn, a horse, and bird and its nest and a tree scene. P5 showed some great teamwork skills, good communication and LOTS of imagination!
The children used electronic timing to see how quickly they could solve Mr Pegg’s division and multiplication problems. They also enjoyed finding there way through the number maze.
Primary 4 have been taking their multiplication and division outside to challenge themselves with practical activities that reinforce their classroom learner. Mr Pegg will visit us every Tuesday afternoon to help the children with their maths and number learning.
In money we learned that if you gave £1 and it was 50p the shopkeeper would give you 50p back in change. We also had to count a whole pot of money with just a piece of paper and a partner.
