The Flickr Widget Plugin has been removed. Unfortunately it breaks a blog if it’s activated before Sidebar Widgets are activated. The blog’s address just displays a blank screen, and it’s not possible for the blog’s owner, or a WordPress administrator, to fix it – it’s a system admin job.
Because that’s the last thing we need in a classroom situation, I’ve removed it meantime. Keeping the blog system robust and reliable must take priority. Sorry if you’ve been using it and can’t now.

I’ve written a flickr sidebar plugin called anotherFlickr and I’ve recently updated it to work within the widget framework. Feel free to give it a try!

Thanks, Luke, for coming to the rescue to quickly. I’ll give your plugin a try, and let you know here how it goes.
[…] Thanks to Luke, who replied to my post on the Education ICT News blog about removing an earlier Flickr Plugin. I’ve now installed his one. Here’s what he says about it: I finished up with the first version of my Flickr wordpress plugin. See the sidebar for a demo. It uses ajax to load in a variable number of pictures from a user’s entire library of photos or from a specific photoset. The images are displayed using lightbox (included in download), and are then linked to the original flickr photopage. The images displayed can be displayed in chronological or random order. Feedback is welcome. […]
