Glow Wikis: create your school’s entry on Scotland’s Schools wiki

Glow Wikis are now available, and to kick things off a national “Scotland’s Schools Wiki” has been launched.

A wiki is just a simple form of web site which can be edited quickly and easily by a number of contributors.

Why not have a go at adding an entry for your school? The East Lothian page is looking a bit empty just now.

The feedback so far is that people are finding the wikis  really easy to use, and teachers are starting to explore various classroom uses, including as e-portfolios.

We’re currently getting permissions sorted so that all East Lothian Glow users can create their own wikis; if you can’t wait please get in touch and we’ll prioritise your account.

Email delegation now available to all eduBuzz Google Apps users

In work situations, it’s often necessary for staff to delegate access to their email to other people in their team. Up till now, that hasn’t been possible with eduBuzz Google Apps, but it’s now easy to set up.

This new feature may be of particular interest to Business Education teachers, because it enables students to gain experience with a key feature of modern organisations. Other staff may wish to use it as an example of the way technology can be used to support working with others. It’s easy to turn it on and off as required for demonstrations etc.

How do I delegate access to my email?

To enter a delegate, users can select the ‘Accounts’ tab under ‘Settings’ in Gmail and click ‘Add another account’ to enter their delegate’s email address. Once the delegate is signed into their own own Gmail account, they can then access the other person’s account from the account selection menu at the top of Gmail. For more information check out our public blog post and help center article.
