The challenge …. following on from last year’s popular Oat Route Expedition this year we are planning an expedition based around the The Skye Trail. This is a challenging 8 day walk up the length of the Island of Skye. It will involve lots of rough off-path walking, teetering along cliff-top paths and passing through the heart of the Skye Cuillin mountains. You will visit some of the remotest areas of the island. The reward – stunning scenery, new skills learnt and a great sense of achievement.
Details … aiming for 15th – 24th June – exact dates TBD, but definitely will be after exams. We hope to offer this for between £200 and £300 per person. 10 days in total (8 days walking), 9 nights, traveling up and down by train and bus. Accommodation will be a mixture of camping and hostels. Final cost dependent on group size and staffing – min of 6, max 12.
Open to … any motivated and committed pupils currently in 4th , 5th or 6th year from across the ELC secondary schools who are up for a challenge. In terms of effort and required fitness … think of DofE Gold Exped – just twice fun, twice the effort with tougher walking. No problem.
