Course summary:

This half-day course is aimed at those with responsibility for looking after adults or young people with severe allergies, but is also a useful addition to any first aider’s skill set.  It can be delivered as a ‘bolt-on’ to any group course or as a standalone and goes into more depth than on a standard first aid course.

for those who have an existing first aid certificate as it covers both topics in greater depth including: causes and triggers, symptoms and recognition, first aid treatment, safe use of medication and advice for the school setting / workplace.  Learners will receive an accredited Ofqual certificate.

  • CPR & defibrillation
  • Unconscious casualty
  • Common allergies & triggers
  • Signs & symptoms of anaphylaxis
  • Treatment of severe allergic reaction
  • Use of an adrenaline auto-injector
  • Asthma

Assessment:

This course is assessed through practical observation.
