Investigating the River Tyne with @PencaitlandPS P5. This was a whole class trip. Split into 3 groups canoeing; measurement; living things investigation. A great, wet, practical, fun day of learning #outdoorlearning#learningspace#adventurouslearning
Working alongside class teacher and ranger service every child had the opportunity develop movement skills to canoe a section of river/ discover living things within the river and their life cycle/ make some scientific accurate measurements of river flow, depth, width using appropriate units and tools. They used the River Tyne local to the school. Looking at a map the pupils were able to use their map reading skills to discover that the river flowing behind their school was part of the same river system that they were investigating
