In East Lothian we have easy access to a number of great indoor and outdoor climbing venues. The courses we offer are aimed at progressing your own climbing skills and and helping teachers and community group leaders gain their National Governing Body (NGB) climbing awards.

Towards your Climbing Wall Award

Course Overview
This course is aimed at those who want to progress their climbing skills to work towards their Climbing Wall Award (CWA). Staff who achieve their CWA will be able to work unsupervised with groups at Tranent and Edinburgh indoor walls. At the beginning of this course we will discuss your individual goals and will organise a further two day CWA training course for those who are interested in gaining this award.

Pre-requisites
A basic climbing skill set. Those who are intending to progress this year to their Climbing Wall Award (CWA) , then some prior climbing experience will be required. (The cost for those doing the additional two day CWA training will be approximately £120).

All climbing equipment is provided, do bring your own kit if you have it.

Introduction to Rock Climbing

This course is aimed at beginners, introducing participants to rope work and movement on rock.
