Course Summary:

This qualification provides learners with a basic understanding of mental health and the knowledge to offer advice and practical support for those suffering a mental health difficulty.

This course can be delivered as face to face learning or distanced learning.  Online courses take a minimum of 5 learning hours, delivered over 1 half day session and individual assessment.

Learners will not diagnose or treat mental health conditions as this can only be carried out by healthcare professionals, however they will gain the knowledge to identify when a person may have a condition and know where they can go to get help.


There is 1 written assessment for this course. The distanced learning course is assessed by professional discussion with the Trainer/Assessor and evidenced by a recorded video call.
