Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS)

Originally developed by Hampshire County Council, MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme and is administered nationally by the Community Transport Association (CTA).  It is a registration-based scheme that has been designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses.

Course Overview
This course is aimed at those who require accreditation to drive a minibus. MiDAS is applicable to any organisation operating or using minibuses. Member organisations range from small voluntary organisations operating one vehicle, to local authorities operating large fleets of minibuses as well as schools, colleges and universities. Further Info

On the day of the course you MUST:

  • Bring your current driving licence showing D1 entitlement
  • Your National Insurance number
  • DVLA licence check code with you on the day follow this link
  • Your previous MiDAS certificate number if you have one

Format of the Course

  • Licence Check
  • Theory Session approx 3hrs
  • Theory Assessment
  • Lunch – bring your own
  • Eye Sight Test
  • Practical Driving Assessment
  • Review of the Day

Deferral/ Fail

If you do not meet the required standards for any assessment you will need to re-book on the next available course.
