Easter Visit To Tranent Parish Church

On the last week of term, before the Easter holidays all the pupils of Elphintone Primary visited Tranent Parish Church. Erica Wishart, the minister and Debbie Middlemass, from Messy Church welcomed us in a special Easter morning service. Some parents were able to join us for this occasion.

Through a PowerPoint, Erica showed us what happens in a church and of some of the important occasions and celebrations held here. Erica explained some of the ‘church furniture’, the stained glass and the artefacts around the church and told us what generally happens there on Sundays each week. The children enjoyed joining in with singing, and P6/7 helped with readings and with an entertaining puppet show on the Story of Easter.

The pupils (and staff/parents) were given refreshments and given a chance to explore more of the church.  We were all given a wee token /Easter Egg as we were leaving.  Thank you to Erica and Debbie for a very enjoyable morning!
