Farm Lunch

We all had a fantastic lunch prepared by the very clever Primary 3/4/5 class! Our yummy meal started with oatcakes, cheese and butter followed by burgers, sausages and mash or jacket potatoes and finally some incredibly scrummy ice-cream! Fantastic! A humongous thank you needs to be given to Mrs Fleming who managed to get all the cooking organised and worked her socks off to get all the food on the table. Well done everyone!!!

Supporting your child at home

Many of you ask the teachers here what you can do to help support the work your children are doing in school at home. Education Scotland have published a Parentzone site which you can access online. The site includes games and activities for you to play at home from the Early to the Fourth Level and lots of ways to incorporate learning into every day family life! The numeracy section has recently been updated to include ideas for building numbers and mental calculations.

World Book Week

On behalf of the whole school I would like to thank you all for your amazing support at this year’s Book Week. We managed to raise and astounding £710.06!!! This means that the school will receive £355.03 to spend on new books for the children! All this would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the incredible Mrs Berry for organising the whole week – THANK YOU!

Here are a few pictures from the week!

P3/4/5 RHET Farm Visitor

Many thanks to Liz McDougal, from Saltoun Home Farm, for her fabulous talk to the class and her table of farm goodies!

We learnt how to make butter from cream and it tasted delicious when we tried it on the oatcakes Liz brought in.
