The Incredible Mars Adventure
This afternoon we got in a space shuttle. We went right up into space. It took us 9 months to get to Mars. When we arrived on Mars we got a shock. There was aliens all around our ship. Astronaut Kelsey was the first to go out the space shuttle.
“When I went out I felt a wee bit shy but it was ok. The aliens were scared of us!”
Then all 16 astronauts went out. We met aliens. We all came back into the ship quickly because our oxygen levels were low! When we got back onboard, astronaut Theo had a baby alien in his hands.
We looked out the window and saw it’s Mummy and Daddy looking for it. We decided to give it back. When our astronaut went out to give it back, the Mummy and Daddy alien started to smile!
“When I gave the baby back I was nervous but when I realised it was special I felt happy.”
Then it was time to go back to Earth. We all got belted in and took off. It took us 9 months to get home.
We made some pictures during our journey home of what we had seen up on Mars.

Then we had some training…
Next we built some model rockets
P1/2’s trip to Mars
Today P1/2 are on a very special mission to Mars! We are starting the morning off by loading up our space shuttle. We have been working in groups to choose 10 items to load and then NASA will assess our decisions. We have to decide between ice cream, an exercise bike, a teddy, macaroni cheese, calpol, playing cards, a hamburger, a pizza, tomato sauce, fizzy juice, a nintendo DS, playing cards, crayons, a football, fruit and veg, books and a laptop. Some hard decisions being made!!
Fun with scales!
We have been having fun this morning weighing different objects we have found around our classroom. We used cubes to weigh each object. We were shocked by how many cubes it took to balance some of the objects.
Can you guess how many cubes it took to balance the torch?
Newsround
Today on Newsround we hear about make up being tested on animals. This is what we thought ….
“It’s cruel. I’m glad it’s banned.”
“It was not very nice for the animals it will hurt them. I think that nobody in the world should do it.”
“It’s animal cruelty. I’m glad people in Scotland don’t do it.”
“It’s not very nice. It makes me feel sad.”
I think in general we are a class against animal testing!
Science
We have been learning about light and dark. Can you guess what we are making?
Book Bug Event
At the bake sale today we were lucky enough to join in with the Book Bug Event. We had so much fun singing songs and listening to the story of ‘Hugless Dougles’. We had so much fun!
