Reindeer Dust

We have been making reindeer dusk to help guide the reindeer to our homes.

Rudolph has been found!

P1/2 received a letter from Santa this morning letting us know that Rudolph had been found in the field at the back of the school. Santa saw all the missing posters and thought they were fantastic and was really grateful for our help. He looks forward to coming back to Elphinstone on Christmas Eve to deliver all the presents to the children. Well done P1/2

Help… Rudolph is Missing!

We received a letter from Santa today saying that Rudolph is missing and he thinks he is somewhere in Elphinstone. P1/2 made missing posters and asked Mrs Hamilton if it was ok to put them up around the school. We have put some up in school and some on the school fence. Please help us find him.

Elf Workshop

We have lots of little elves in our P1/2 class helping wrapping up presents for Santa. Hopefully they will have all the presents ready for Christmas Eve.

We also have set up the playmobil small world nativity scene and Christmas puzzles for the P1/2 to enjoy.

Writing Letters to Santa

P1/2 have been writing letters to Santa and are hoping he enjoys reading them.

Christmas Time

All the school have been busy making decorations for the school Christmas tree. Here are some photos of the P1/2 decorating the tree with their Christmas decorations.

Getting Ready For Christmas

P1/2 have been working hard making crafts for the Christmas fair on Friday. We have also been making Scottish Santa’s for our hall window display. Don’t they look great? Well done P1/2.

Using a Dictionary

In reading this week, we were trying to think of words that had the sounds, sh, th, ch, ng and nk in them. We thought of a few, then began to get a little stuck for ideas so we decided to use the junior dictionaries to help us.

French

In P1/2 we try to do some French each day in the class. We talk about the days of the weather and we also like to count in French. Ask us at home.

Numeracy – Skip counting

We have been doing lots of different activities to help us skip count in 2’s,5’s and 10’s. We have also been doing lots of counting forwards and backwards and making number lines. Also arranging numbers smallest to largest and using education city to do different counting games.
