We have been fortunate in that our exciting and excellent work with nature and the outdoors has been selected as an example on the Care Inspectorate website feature of ‘My World Outdoors’.

Thank you to all the parents and pupils of our nursery who made this possible.
Thank you to all colleagues who attended our open afternoon on the 13th May. It was lovely to see you all and for those who didn’t make it along please feel free to arrange to visit another time.
We were very busy in the Nursery with lots of Christmas activities. We had fun decorating the tree.
We were very excited at our party….
……especially when Santa came to Elphinstone to see us!
Some of the children wanted to have jelly for snack. We had to add “jelly ” to our shopping list for Mrs Moore to get when she was shopping. Then we had to rip it up into little bits. It felt very squishy and sticky. We were very careful when we poured the hot water onto the jelly cubes. We stirred and stirred and the cubes changed into a liquid! It was magic! Jelly takes a long time to go hard so we had to put it in the fridge and wait till the next day. It was very yummy!
We have been looking at cold colours and decided they reminded us of winter. We have been using lots of skills when we have been making our transient art pictures; colour recognition, fine motor skills, counting, matching, sorting, sharing resources, taking turns and lots more. How many more can you think of?
Annette, the Tooth Brushing lady came to visit nursery this week. She brought Monty the Dog with her. She showed us how to clean our teeth then we brushed Monty’s teeth for him. He was very good and didn’t bite us! Next we all brushed our teeth to show Annette how we did it. She said we were amazing! Well done everyone – keep up the good work at home and remember, Monty says “no water” so you don’t rinse the tooth paste away!
