CPD Opportunities

We have been looking at the CPD opportunities relating to Enterprise and wanted to flag up a few of the courses running this term.

APODO Training ECS 359a

Spaces are still available on the above course. This is an opportunity for you to use the APODO system and see how it can fit into the curriculum in your school. If any school is willing to host this course please let me know.

Enterprise Your Lesson ECS 370 a/b 22 January and 5 February 2007

4.30pm – 5.30pm

Prestonpans Education Centre

This new course is designed to allow staff the opportunity to explore what enterprising teaching and learning is and how they can use this in their classroom. There is a practical element to the course whereby you will be asked to prepare and teach a lesson in school and then comment on the strengths and weaknesses of this with your colleagues.

Leadership for an Enterprising Classroom ECS 318

27 February and 22 March 2007

9.15am – 4.00pm

Prestongrange Gothenburg, Prestonpans

This course is designed to foster leaders in relation to enterprising learning and teaching and therefore would be suitable for all coordinators in order to build on the skills and attributes you already have. The aims of the course are:

· encourage the spirit of enterprising leadership

· create an enterprising approach within the classroom

· develop partnerships through enterprise within school and beyond

· share ideas, develop skills and strategies

· embrace the leadership role within the classroom in order to empower others to be enterprising

· be more confident in developing the 4 capacities in education (ACfE)

· be more confident in applying the processes of assessment (AifL)

. implement an enterprising approach in the classroom (DtS)

Enterprising Global Citizenship

22 February and 27 March 2007 9.15am – 4.00pm

Prestongrange Gothenburg, Prestonpans

This course allows delegates to explore how citizenship, enterprise and the international dimension can be brought together to provide a powerful and motivating classroom learning experience for all young people.

For both Enterprising Global Citizens and Leadership for an Enterprising Classroom, staff cover costs will be paid for.
