In class we learned about farm safety before we went on our farm visit.
We looked at a poster about farm safety and completed some missing words. Mr McEwan also told us some things about keeping safe on the farm we were going to visit.

When we went to the farm we spent some time looking at vegetables.
Here are some of the things we learned:
At the farm last week we were learning about cereals.
Wheat, barley and oats are three of the main cereal crops in the uk. One of the things you can make with Wheat is wheatabix. You can also make bread and biscuits.
Some of the things we did when we were learning about cereals were:
We ground some grain to make flour. It was fun but a lot of hard work.
When we were at the farm we looked at all the parts of a real plough. We then watched 3 different ploughs being used to plough the fields. 3 things the farmer is looking for when he is ploughing are that the field he has ploughed is: straight, black and even. . Black black means no straw seen when ploughing. . Straight straight means it is not going to be wonky. . Equal equal means not having one long side and one short.
