Sporting Success

We sent two teams consisting of P6 and P7 pupils to the recent ELPSSA hockey tournament at Meadowmill, where a great day was had by all. One of our teams made it to the final, where a defeat to Kings Meadow Primary resulted in second place, but a qualification to the Regional Finals at Peffermill in the summer term.

Our other team came in third place on the day, and qualifies for the SHU National Hockey Day to be held in Glasgow in June. What a superb achievement for both our teams.

The team members were: Freya L, Imogen C, Morven C, Amy C, Iona S, Megan F, Ellis M, Anna D, Isla M, Emily C, Freya E, Lily W, and Olivia T.

Congratulations

A well done to Harry O’Connor and Angus Hill. Throughout the 2017 season Junior Golfers from across East Lothian took part in 10 Order of Merit Fun Competitions.

Points were awarded to players for placing in the top 5 in each competition as well as points for attending to encourage participation throughout the season. Prizes were awarded at each competition for the winner in each division, 2’s, nearest the pin and best team score. Congratulations to Harry O’Connor (Gullane) and Angus Hill (Gullane) who have won their respective divisions of the 2017 Junior Golf Order of Merit. Fantastic effort by both these boys who are still in primary school and very dedicated to their golf.

Harry attended 7 out of 10 of the competitions and beat his brother Jamie into a very close 2nd. Angus Hill attended all 10 events and came 1st in 3 and 2nd or 3rd in 5!
