Miss Smith and I thoroughly enjoyed our first Friday Club session. We hoped children could apply their higher order thinking and co-operative learning skills to problem solving.
After a quick problem solving ice breaker, we spoke about flooding and their task was to build a tower tall enough and strong enough to withstand a flood. The towers were to be created in groups and constructed from spaghetti and marshmallows!! So they put on their white, blue and green hats on and came up with this…..

Primary 6 celebrating and demonstrating their learning by running their own inter class hockey tournament on Monday the 9th of October.
Last term primary 6 didn’t just learn about hockey they also learned about about the different roles in sport and what it’s like to work in mixed teams. We focussed mainly on working effectively together, demonstrating positive leadership skills and taking ownership of learning. This was a great success and you can see just how well they have done from the photos!
