Welcome Back!!!!

Welcome back P7D!!!!

7D have had a busy start to the new term. We have started our new topic of sustainability and have researched what fossil fuels are and how they affect the environment. The class decided to present their information as a poster. Last week we worked with Andy Duff and he took us on a tour of Haddington and we looked at litter in the environment, land use and how old some of the buildings are.

7D have taken part in discussions about our health education topic and have asked a lot of questions.

In numeracy we are focusing on fractions, decimals and percentages this term. Please keep working on those timetables!!

Last week we learnt about the role of women in ww2  and we have learnt about what their jobs would be working in factory’s. What the women’s jobs were and what they dressed like and how hard the job was.

In P.E we’re doing hockey, we have been playing games, doing Indian dribbling & progressing our skills.

In writing we’ve been doing a neat version of our evacuee letter.

In maths, we have been doing compass work with Mrs Davidson.

In the week beginning the 12/9 we had fun doing our evacuee letter, we pretended that we were writing home from the country side.

During ICT we were researching leaders during WWII. Did you know that Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Mussolini and Hitler all suffered from Ailurophobia, the fear of cats. Did you know that Franklin Roosevelt was a famous architect. We also got to eat food made with rationings at home! J

World War 2 Homework

Primary 7D have made a brilliant start to the term. The class have begun to bring in their 1st task for homework.  We have enjoyed a wide selection of old recipes ( and tasting them ), Anderson Shelters, poems and posters. We have been having show and tell everyday to share each others homework. Keep up the hard work 7D.dsc00805 dsc00806 dsc00807 dsc00808 dsc00809
