5B are very fortunate to be included in the ‘Fish in the classroom’ project. This has been organised as part of our John Muir Award. Yesterday our trout eggs arrived. Lots of children in school stop and look to see what is going on as the tank is in the P5 area.

In a continuation of our Improvement Plan work on Higher Order Thinking Skills, staff have been looking at higher order questioning based around Bloom’s Taxonomy. Through this we hope to move from the use of questions based around what children can remember to those which encourage them to think of new approaches to a given situation.

The current Mainstream Home to School contract for all closed contracted transport (Non-public service)will end in July 2017. The New contract will start in August 2017and run for four years, after the tender process, which will start in January 2017.
This winter look out for Dippers, Goosanders, Tufted Ducks , Grey Wagtails and Kingfishers, but remember to be quiet so you have more chance to see them . Feed the birds this winter because in winter there is a lack of seed and insects. At nature detectives we will make feeders out of apples, seeds and lard.
