Symmetrical patterns out in the playground

In maths we have been learning about shapes and symmetry. To test our knowledge of symmetrical patterns we went outside to see if we could create some of our own using what we could find in the playground!

Barfi Sweets

We made some delicious Barfi sweets to celebrate about Hinduism and Diwali. To make them we needed:

– 225g of coconut, 100g icing sugar, 200g condensed milk

we then mixed the ingredients together in a bowl, rolled the mixture into balls and then coated them with more icing sugar! yummy!

Religions around the world

This term P4B are learning all about religions around the world. We started the topic off by looking at Hinduism and the festivals, beliefs and foundations of the religion. To celebrate Diwali, we made Barfi sweets using condensed milk, icing sugar and coconut. We all enjoyed getting messy making them and enjoyed eating them even more! Using 2D shapes, we created our own rangoli patterns to welcome the goddess of wealth into our classroom. During our computer times we are working with our partners to create a powerpoint presentation of all the things we are learning about within the topic. We are also using this time to research the different religions we are looking at. We have now moved onto Sikhism and will follow on with Budhism and Christianity!

Roald Dahl Day

We all had a super time doing lots of fun activities and getting dressed up for Roald Dahl Day!
