This year the PTA will be running the Festival Café as part of The Haddington Festival on Tuesday the 30th of May. Its a huge fundraiser for the school and we always look for and get lots of support from parents and carers. The children get very excited at going up to the Corn Exchange for their lunch and it involves them in the Festival. Here’s what you need to know….
Pre-order lunch forms
Please return these by Friday 19th May. On the day of the café your child will receive a voucher which you bring to the collection are and get your lunch bag. You are responsible for getting your child to and from the café (and during the café) and have to let the school know who is picking them up. Adults can order lunch bags too. Information about collection times will be sent out in due course.
Without lots of help we can’t run the café. If you can help on the day, or before, there are lots of jobs to be done. Please fill in the volunteer form and hand it in to the office. You can also leave a message with the office, email the PTA or message us on Facebook. Meet new people, get some good chat and there’s tea/coffee and cake for helpers. All are welcome, grandparents, parents, friends etc. You don’t have to help all day, even just an hour at the start, end or over the busy lunchtime period would be a huge help.
Baking…….. we need lots and lots of baking. Please. (no nuts) You can leave this at the Corn Exchange from 8.30 am or at the office on the day at drop-off.
At the Corn Exchange there will be cakes, hot and cold drinks, and snacks available to buy too. There will also be a raffle to win a beautiful cake baked by one of our very talented Mum’s.
The PTA would like to thank Tesco Haddington for their support of the café.

Today marks the start of Health Week in the nursery and school. Lots of exciting activities will be taking place and we will have many visitors in the school working with the children on various aspects of health and wellbeing. Some of the activities include: Jo Jingles, Enjoyaball, Tiger Cubs, a safety talk from a local police officer, fruit and vegetable tasting to name just a few.
There are a lot of excited children this week looking forward to the Nursery Fun Night and the Primary 1 Spring Disco.
Wednesday 8th March is the Nursery Fun Night, which runs from 5.30pm until 7pm. Refreshments will be available for Parents and Carers. Please be aware that no siblings will be allowed to stay at this event. We would really appreciate donations of Raffle Prizes and Homebaking and these can be dropped off on the day.
Thursday evening is the P1 Disco, doors open 6pm, pick up at 7.30pm.
There’s still time to get tickets for both events.
Hopefully everyone had a good time over the Christmas holidays and you are ready for another busy term ahead. Our school and nursery newsletters go out soon – please take time to read the newsletters as there will be lots of useful information included.
