P1 Enrolment for August 2024 Intake

Arrangements are now in place to enrol pupils for Primary 1 for August 2024.  Any child whose fifth birthday falls between 1 March 2024 and the last day of February 2025 are eligible to start school.

You should enrol your child online between 13 November 2023 and 4 December 2023 using the link below:

https://www.eastlothian.gov.uk/p1-enrolment

Further information is attached regarding the process and the paperwork that is required to support the enrolment process.

Although most children attend their catchment school, parents may make an application for another school.  This is called a non-catchment placing request and more information regarding this process can be found here:

http://www.eastlothian.gov.uk/schoolenrolandplacingrequests

You must enrol your child at their catchment school regardless of whether you intend to apply for a non-catchment place.

If you would like to defer your child’s entry to P1 for a year, you should still submit an online P1 enrolment form for your catchment primary school at this point so a place can be held for them.

Further information regarding the process for a deferral will be issued in January 2024.

If you have any questions regarding this process you can email schoolplacements@eastlothian.gov.uk  or please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
