Yesterday P1/2/3 visited the museum to find out how electricity is produced from coal. We were shown around by an ex-miner who started working there when he was only 15! Our visit included a trip into the mine, a look around two exhibition rooms, and starting and stopping the steam engine which hauled the cages for the pit.
Wow, looks like it was really interesting and great fun! So… how many of you want to work down a mine when you grow up?!
