Today we invited the nursery parents in so we could share our experiences from the last year with them. We have managed to cram in so much – making friends, lots of mud play, yummy food, outings, fun and LOTS of learning!
We also said goodbye and good luck to the four Pre-school children who are moving into P1. We will miss you, but we know that we will still see you around the school.
Please enjoy looking at the slideshow of some of this year’s special moments.
Wishing you all a very happy summer break and thank you to all the parents for your support throughout the year.

Easter Eggstravaganza
Well done to everyone for their super ideas in our ‘Easter Eggstravaganza’ earlier today.
The sun shone at Canty Bay!
Leavers Assembly
Our end of term assembly for our P7 pupils took place today.
Our Nursery pupils sang We’re All Together Again and I Can Clap My Hands and our P3/4/5 pupils sang us their version of Lovely Summer’s Day.
P2 dressed in their clown costumes and did circus tricks following a Powerpoint showing all the work they did on their clown/circus day. Our P1 pupils and their P7 buddies, Pierrot performed a gorgeous little dance to ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’, ending with the P7s putting a tear on their P1 Pierrot’s cheeks and then the P7s all waved goodbye and left the stage. There was not a dry eye in the house!
Our P7 pupils performed a sketch about themselves 10 years on which was really funny. Examples of what our P7’s seeing themselves doing in 10 years include – Carrie who runs a pub (The Black Volunteer); Caitlin is a designer and has just bought a mansion; Cerys is teaching at Fettes and getting married; Katie runs her own equestrian centre and Eli is an inventor who has just invented a chatterbot.
Presentations were made, which included Stars of the Week, House of the Year – which was Castle, P7 Accelerated Reader awards from Mrs Baxter, 100% Attendance certificates for Finn and Caitlin, flowers and a year book were given to Mrs Baxter and our P7’s were presented with leaving gifts!
The assembly finished with everyone singing Himmelflugt which is a song about flying into the future.
We wish all of our P7 pupils who are leaving us the very best at Dunbar Grammar School.
Sports Day
Following the postponement of our Sports Day last Thursday because of the weather, we were very glad today that the sun was shining and our re-scheduled Sports Day was able to go ahead.
The P1-P7 children took part in flat races, egg & spoon races, sack races and marathons amongst other activities. Everyone who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were all totally exhausted at the end of the afternoon.
We would like to thank Mrs Anderson, our PE specialist, for arranging Sports Day for us. Thanks also go to all parents/carers, friends and families who came along to support the event and to cheer the children on!
Goodbye to Mrs Baxter
Along with our P7 pupils whom she has been teaching, Mrs Baxter will sadly be leaving Innerwick Primary School tomorrow as she has come to the end of her probationer year with us.
The staff today presented Mrs Baxter with some leaving gifts and passed on their well wishes to her for a very successful future, which we know that she will have.
You will be sadly missed Mrs Baxter!
Music Showcase
Our P1-P7 pupils performed a Music Showcase yesterday afternoon to show parents/carers, families and friends what they have been doing in their music lessons this term, with Mrs Dick our Music Specialist.
Our P1/2s performed songs from ‘In My Garden’, which is a little
musical from Golden Apple Publishers. P3/4/5 performed a section from a musical all about water called ‘H2O’ (also Golden Apple) and P6/7 performed a selection of familiar songs for which they had written their own lyrics, the tunes included ‘Scotland the Brave’ and ‘Money, Money, Money’ and they finished by singing ‘We go Together’ from Grease.
