Due to an increase in the number of pupils at Innerwick Primary School, and an already full to capacity P4/7 class of 25, it has been necessary to alter the structure of the classes with effect from Monday 28th September 2009.
Instead of two composite classes of P1-3 & P4-7, the classes will be split as follows;-
P1/2 – Miss Farnworth & Mr MacRury
P3/4/5 – Ms Kavanagh & Mr MacRury
P6/7 – Miss Bell
Further details are available in the September issue of our school newsletter.
2009 is the 40th year of Innerwick Primary School being at it’s current site in Kirk Brae.
The schools will be celebrating with events througout the year – further details will be posted onto the website in due course
We will be having an open day where ex-pupils and their families will be invited to come into the school to look at how times have changed in school during the last 40 years.
We would also like to display school photos and artefacts from the previous 40 years, so we would ask that if anybody has any items that they are willing to lend to the school that they contact us via telephone on 01368 840227 or leave your comments on this website.
We hope to hear from as many people as possible!
We have put together the Standards and Quailty report for parents. This is available via the link below.
Full Audit of the school
We also have produced a comprehensive report on our performance last year using the Quality Indicators from (How Good is our School?) HGIOS.
This is available by clicking on the link below.
Following on from the success of our Rag Bag collection in April 2009, which raised £155.00 for the school, there will be a further collection from school on 6th October 2009.
So, if you have any types of unwanted textiles including adult’s and children’s clothes, paired shoes, hats, bags, belts, curtains, towels and bed linen, can you please arrange to hand them into school before 9.00am on 6th October 2009. It is important that shoes are paired by tying the laces together, or with an elastic band. Ragbag take all qualities of textiles, even ripped or with buttons missing!!!
We hope that you are able to support this initiative and look forward to receiving items from you in due course.

At the end of the Summer Term 2009, we said fond farewells to our P7 pupils, other pupils moving on elsewhere and to Mrs Burbanks, who left us to become Head Teacher at West Barns Primary School.
At the start of the academic year 2009, we would like to welcome our new P1 pupils, Ms Caitriona Kavanagh who will be our Principal Teacher and also Miss Vicky Farnworth, a Newly Qualified Teacher, who will teach P1/2/3.
Next week, we look forward to seeing the new children who will be joining our Nursery class.

Thank you to everyone who came along to support the bag packing fund raising event at Asda, Dunbar.
The final count of the donations has come to £493.54 – this is a fantastic amount towards the cost of the new trim trail for the school and local community.
Thank you also to all those people who couldn’t make the event today, but kindly made a donation!
We are very grateful to everybody!
