On the 16th of August, 2015, 15 parents from Law Primary swam from the Bass Rock back to North Berwick, to raise money for Project Play. They started training in the January of that year and were helped by the RNLI, and local people who gave their time in training, as medics on the day, as support from boats and kayaks and many more supported and encouraged along the way. The team raised over £8000 for Project Play, with £800 given to the RNLI.
The children have been consulted and based on their feedback, we have begun making some improvements, for example, 4 new picnic tables, 2 new A-frames and some new planters for the gardening team to use. Negotiations are on-going!
Ann Reilly, one of the swimmers, made this amazing wee film to share our experience with others. We hope you have fun watching it!
What wonderful sounds were heard in school today! The Primary 2, 3 and 4 classes were all treated to a fantastic performance by the Kakatsitsi Master Drummers from Ghana in the Gym Hall then the P3s and 4s were each given a workshop. This included drumming, singing and dancing. Please watch the YouTube clip for a taste of what the children did today. (It is NOT a clip filmed in school today…photos to follow)

Charlies Challenge on PhotoPeach
Charlie marked the anniversary of the operation to increase his mobility by undertaking a triathlon. He was supported by family, friends and the local community. Over £1,500 was raised for Project Play to continue their work to develop the playground at Law. Well done to Charlie and the boys and girls who took part.
What a wonderful way to end the school term. We had our Big Sing today where we enjoyed carols, Christmas Songs, festive head gear and being together to raise money for Nordoff Robbins music therapy charity. There was even a special appearance by the staff dance troupe, The Christmas Jumpers”, a sight that may never be seen again!
All the fun raised £352.40 today, added to the Little Sing money from North Berwick Nursery School and the donation of £200 from the PTA and some private donations we raised £850.
Well Done to the school community.
