Christmas Nativity art

Heidi’s mum very kindly popped in this morning to deliver an art session with the children. She had pre-prepared some pebbles with the outline of characters from the Nativity, then invited the children to come and have a go at painting them. Heidi’s mum let them practise on blocks first and told them about fat strokes and thin strokes, then they were let loose on the pebbles themselves. We think they’ve done a great job, and we’ll keep them for future story telling of the Nativity.

Huge thanks to Heidi’s Mum. What do you think?

What a lovely thing to do. We are so lucky with our talented parent helpers. the kids loved this activity and learned so much, for instance how artists use different brush strokes, using pallets for mixing colours and about the characters in the nativity story. Rachel has such patience and enthusiasm, she made it a joyful experience and alllowed the children to be creative.Although here we can see only five children, ten children were given a great opportunity to take part and they were so proud of their achievements.
Thank you Rachel for giving up your time.A pleasure for me to watch a real artist working with the children in this lovely way.I made sure all the parents saw their work yesterday and the children were delighted to take their samples home today.
