Peter from East Lothian Foodbank came to collect the food we collected.

He says “Thanks for inviting me to the nursery today your children have collected a massive 121.7 kilos of food and this equates to a grand total of 203 meals for people who find themselves in in food crisis in East Lothian.”

A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT SUPPORTED THIS CAUSE.

Harvest Collection

Posted by: | September 17, 2015 | No Comment |

On Wednesday Loraine and Steven from Basics Bank Dunbar came to collect the items brought in for our harvest collection.

We just received this message from Lorraine:
“It was lovely to meet everyone today when we picked up the food donation for the Basics Bank. It was especially nice to see all the children’s contributions as they placed their food in our car. The food donation weighed in at 72kg which is an amazing effort by the children. Please convey our heartfelt thanks for all who took part and let the children know that we were very impressed by the way they showed that they had thought about where the food was going. Thanks for all your efforts. Lorraine Gilchrist”

Thank you to all who have contributed to the back pack appeal.  Lauren Cowie from the North Berwick Youth Cafe and some pupils from NBHS came to collect them to take them to the boys and girls in Rwanda.  They also took Adventure Ted, we can’t wait to see the boys and girls who got them.

Thanks to the mums and grans who packed them and created lovely labels for the bags.

Rwanda Backpack Project

Posted by: | October 7, 2014 | No Comment |

Nursery and P1 are very excited to be linking up with North Berwick Youth Café this year that have a link with a Primary School in Rwanda. A group of young people from North Berwick High School and the café will be flying to Rwanda to help a Nursery and Primary school. An important aspect of this initiative is the Backpack Project.

Thanks to COSTCO who donated 40 empty backpacks we would now love to send them filled with stationary and PE Kit.

All our pupils at Nursery and Primary1 are involved in this project and we are welcoming speakers from the High School on Friday 10th October to show us photographs of the boys and girls who attend the school in Rwanda. After this venture we hope to develop further links as part of our on-going Global Citizenship curriculum.

If the wider school community would like to make a donation, we would be delighted in P1 to receive the following:
