After some technical issues here is the link to the Christmas Songs playlist
We are looking forward to our Sports Day with our P6 buddies next week.
Monday – Room 3
Tuesday – Room 1
Wednesday – Room 2
Please ensure your child is wearing trainers. The sports day will be weather permitting.
Some of the children were interested in bugs. One of the books we read was called “The Beeman”. So were super excited when a real bee keeper, Clive, came to visit us yesterday. He told us all about bees and how we cares for his hive. Why not ask your child what they found interesting!?!
We had honey for snack today – it was delicious!!!
A HUGE THANK YOU to one of our mummies and local artist, Rachel (Bonzo Art – http://www.bonzo-art.com/) who has created this wonderful piece of artwork inspired by Van Gogh’s sunflowers. She helped the children to create each of the sunflowers a few months ago and has put it up today in our middle room. I’m sure you will agree it looks fantastic!!!?! These will be used as an end of term gift for pre-schoolers… watch this space!!!

Room 2 had a go at acting out the Nativity story yesterday. Here are some photos:
Mary, Joseph and the donkey set out on their long journey.
The Angel Gabriel appeared to the shepherd.
The Baby Jesus was born in a stable and placed in a manger.
The Three Wise ‘People’ followed the star to the stable.
Heidi’s mum visited the class last week and painted pebbles with some of the children to create a Nativity scene. Here is the finished result:
Aren’t they beautiful?
Heidi’s mum very kindly popped in this morning to deliver an art session with the children. She had pre-prepared some pebbles with the outline of characters from the Nativity, then invited the children to come and have a go at painting them. Heidi’s mum let them practise on blocks first and told them about fat strokes and thin strokes, then they were let loose on the pebbles themselves. We think they’ve done a great job, and we’ll keep them for future story telling of the Nativity.
Huge thanks to Heidi’s Mum. What do you think?
It was lovely to see so many of you join us in the nursery to play and find out we have been learning about. What did you think of this event? Please comment on the post or send us a email email@example.com. We appreciate all feedback.
Peter from East Lothian Foodbank came to collect the food we collected.
He says “Thanks for inviting me to the nursery today your children have collected a massive 121.7 kilos of food and this equates to a grand total of 203 meals for people who find themselves in in food crisis in East Lothian.”
