Success for Charity Status

Today, we received some great news from OSCR….
“I am pleased to tell you that the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) is satisfied that your organisation meets the charity test, and has entered it in the Scottish Charity Register. This means it now has charitable status under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005.”

Woo hoo!!!
And a big thank you to everyone who made this happen.

CHARITY STATUS UPDATE

In amongst all the madness of the May Fair, we also managed to have a Special General Meeting to discuss our application for Charity Status!  The recommendation from OSCR, following our submission, was to remove a single clause from our Constitution relating to improving the school environment, as they viewed this as falling under the advancement of education.  It was unanimously agreed that this was to be removed.

We have now sent the amended Constitution and minutes of the SGM to OSCR for approval, and are awaiting further response.

Fingers crossed!
