Sponsor a stall at the May Fair!

As the May Fair is fast approaching, we are trying to make sure that all the pennies that are spent are profit to go towards the library, cooking equipment and the Harbour Room; to help cover our costs this year we are hoping to get sponsorship for the stalls, in return for some free advertising.

Those of you that attended last year will hopefully realise how well the local business community supports us with donations and amazingly generous raffle prizes. However if you know a company or person that would like to sponsor a stall in its entirety, or per hour, then see below for estimated costs (based on last year’s figures) of each stall/event.

Event/Stall Total Expenses Per Hour
Cake & Refreshments* £30.00 £7.50
Sweets & Popcorn* £200.00 £50.00
Facepainting* £15.00 £3.00
Nail painting & Tattoos* £15.00 £3.00
Tombola* £20.00 £5.00
Obstacle Course £100.00 £25.00
Bouncy Castle £100.00 £25.00
Sumo Suits £50.00 £12.50
Pig for Hog Roast £200.00 £50.00

Please let Kate Black or Caroline Danks know via lawpta@googlemail.com if this is something you would be interested in or if you would like to make a general donation please visit our BT MyDonate site (where you can also GiftAid your donation).

Many thanks!

Match funding

Do you work for a bank, building society, supermarket, phone company…?

If your employer has a match funding policy, any money you raise could be matched by your employer. Sometimes companies will match the fundraising total for an event, or for the stall that their employee is working on (e.g. at the May Fair!).

Many large firms do this, but some smaller ones too. Usually you’d just need to forward them a letter from the PTA with the event details, together with the total raised. If you’re helping out at the May Fair this would quite likely qualify, but if you know the company you work for has a match funding policy of any kind, please let us know anyway (Facebook, email or via the school office). This could be a really large source of income for the PTA and help us raise money for our school and the new resources we need.

Thank you for your support. It really makes a huge difference to our fundraising efforts!

Family Ceilidh (and raffle) this Friday – don’t miss out!

Don’t forget to buy your ceilidh tickets for this Friday. This is a great family event for all ages and family fun! Our fundraising this year will help buy class cameras, adding to the library book stock and mobile kitchens for class cooking lessons.

Raffle tickets are also still on sale for the draw at Friday’s ceilidh.

Prizes include a lovely Rachel Marshall print, a Steampunk gift voucher, an Etc popcorn maker, a Henry’s Jewellers gift voucher, a Tulipa plant, a bottle of Glenfiddich whisky…. and many more.

Buy your tickets now and don’t miss out!

There should be parents in the playground through the week selling tickets, or you can pay via BACS (details below) if it’s easier than trying to catch one of us there.

AGM this Thursday at the school!

Cauliflower Christmas Cards
Thank you to all our teaching staff and children for the lovely Christmas cards that are making their way home to you. The forms need to be completed and returned, along with payment, by this Friday (30th).  Cheques should be made payable to Law Primary PTA. If you have more than one child, please could you make separate payments for each, otherwise it makes it very difficult to check who has paid in each class. We will be sending all orders away at the beginning of next week.

Bake Sale – this Friday!
Lovely baking up for grabs this Friday at school pick up time in the p2/3/4 playground! All donations can be dropped off at the GP room at morning drop off.
We have also decided that as Friday is a national day for recognising the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support, we will be donating some of the profits to this great cause.
Please remember your pennies!

Thank you…and our first fundraiser of the year!

So it looks like we will have a Committee!!!!! Yay!!! Thank you very much to everyone who has offered to help us out. All will be confirmed at the AGM on the 29th.
In the meantime, however, we thought we’d get started on our fundraising for this year with a Bake Sale. Next Friday (30th September) at pick up time.
As always, all donations of baking are very much needed – please drop off at the GP Room in the morning.
