AGM this Thursday at the school!
Cauliflower Christmas Cards
Thank you to all our teaching staff and children for the lovely Christmas cards that are making their way home to you. The forms need to be completed and returned, along with payment, by this Friday (30th). Cheques should be made payable to Law Primary PTA. If you have more than one child, please could you make separate payments for each, otherwise it makes it very difficult to check who has paid in each class. We will be sending all orders away at the beginning of next week.
Bake Sale – this Friday!
Lovely baking up for grabs this Friday at school pick up time in the p2/3/4 playground! All donations can be dropped off at the GP room at morning drop off.
We have also decided that as Friday is a national day for recognising the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support, we will be donating some of the profits to this great cause.
Please remember your pennies!
Notification of PTA AGM
Our AGM will be held on Thursday 29th September at 7pm in the GP room in the school.
Our agenda will run as follows:
1. Update from the chair as to what we’ve been doing in the last year
2. Treasurer’s report
3. Constitution of Committee
It will be held in conjunction with the Parent Council AGM and Anti-Bullying information evening.
We are still looking for some key people to take on a role on our PTA Committee. We have the following vacancies:
Chair – chairing meetings, generally making sure things happen when they should!
Vice Chair – a support to the Chair, with a view of becoming Chair in future
Events Coordinator – a planner, putting events into place, making sure everything is done (not necessarily by you!)
Volunteer Coordinator – making sure we have plenty of people to help at events and that they know what they’re doing
Full training and handover given, and a lovely bunch of people to work with!
Now, here come the puppy dog eyes….
If we can’t fill these positions, then we won’t be able to function as a PTA, which will mean no fun activities for the children, and no fundraising.
So, please, please, please, help if you can. Get in touch by emailing email@example.com.
If a Committee position is definitely not for you, please let us know that you can still help at events, or in the background, and we will get back to you.
Hope you all had a great summer and are ready and raring to go for a fun and exciting year at Law Primary!
This year, in conjunction with Project Play, we have all sorts of great fundraising activities lined up, with all proceeds going towards improving what the school can offer for our children.
Our next PTA meeting is on Tuesday 1 September at 7pm in the School Staff Room. If you are interested in helping, finding out more, or even have some creative new ideas on how we can raise money, we’d love you to come along.
You don’t have to be a Committee member and we would welcome anyone who has some time to spare and wants to help make a difference!
We always finish by 9pm at the VERY latest and there are lots of laughs along the way!! 😉
Hopefully see some of you then. If you have any queries in the meantime, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
In amongst all the madness of the May Fair, we also managed to have a Special General Meeting to discuss our application for Charity Status! The recommendation from OSCR, following our submission, was to remove a single clause from our Constitution relating to improving the school environment, as they viewed this as falling under the advancement of education. It was unanimously agreed that this was to be removed.
We have now sent the amended Constitution and minutes of the SGM to OSCR for approval, and are awaiting further response.
Our next Committee meeting is Thursday 23rd April at 7pm in the school Staff Room. Please feel free to come along if you would like to help.
