World Book Day is next Thursday 4th March. Children in Primary 1-3 are invited to come into school that day, dressed as a character from a book if they wish to do so. To reduce the number of personal items being brought into school at this time, please do not bring in dress up accessories such as hats, masks or wands. Donations to PTA funds would be very welcome (suggested £1).
Children in Primary 4-7 will be celebrating World Book Day with their class teachers as part of their home schooling. Children in the Critical Childcare Hub are welcome to come to school dressed as a character from a book if they wish.
Kind regards,
PTA

East Lothian Council’s vision is to develop a modern, safe, sustainable learning estate that enhances and supports communities while improving the lives of families equally no matter what area they are in. We’re now undertaking a pre-consultation activity which will help to inform a review of our Learning Estate.
An online survey has been created to gather views from the community. This feedback will help inform how we move forward with a full Learning Estate Review.
The pre-consultation public survey will be open from Monday 22nd February until Monday 15th March, during which time the survey will be accessible on the East Lothian Council Consultation Hub.
More information and the online survey can be found at https://eastlothianconsultations.co.uk/education/learning-estate-review-pre-consultation

Zoe Lovell who coordinates the Law PC Safe Routes to School group for the Parent Council has been working hard with the local community groups but now needs someone else to help. It’s a fantastic opportunity to really contribute to our town – not just for the kids!
“Do you have experience of stakeholder management?
Do you live in the East of the town?
Would you like your children to be able to cycle safely to school?
We have an exciting opportunity to work with the local council, Area Partnership and other interested parties to investigate the possibility of improving the surface of the path that runs along the bottom of the law.
This would greatly improve the safety of children, because it would allow cyclists and pedestrians to use the route to go from Aldi along to the school without having to go along the increasingly busy Lochbridge Road.
The current proposal being discussed would involve an upgrade to a surface similar to that of The Glen, there is no suggestion of using tarmac, or lights, which could disturb wildlife.
To move the project forward though, we need someone to gather views of all interested parties, including local residents, and to facilitate relevant discussions. We don’t anticipate this being a particularly lengthy, or time consuming role.”

Thank you!
