Nicola Davies

Davies-Nicola-COLOURNicola Davies is an English zoologist and writer. She was one of the original presenters of the BBC children’s wildlife programme The Really Wild Show. More recently, she has made her name as a children’s author.

She has seen all sorts of animals, all over the world: chamaeleons in Madagascar, turtles in the Seychelles, walruses in the Arctic, bat eared foxes in Kenya, salt water crocodiles in Australia. But she  still loves the animals that are within reach of her home in Wales: the ravens and red kites, the grey seals and the choughs, the roe deer and foxes, even the blackbirds that nest in her tiny garden.

She writes both fiction and non-fiction, as well as picture books and novels.

    Dear Nicola Davies
I have been reading your books for a while. I’ve been reading the silver street farm series and it is really good I like it because it starts as they are little kids and in nursery they play with the farm and they used it like a real farm and that inspired them to make a real farm. 5 years later they were on a round about and they thought
they would not get a farm then one of them said: ” If I pull out a green jelly babie we will start our farm”. She put her hand in her bag
of jelly babies and pulled out a green one ta da she said

hi, I REALY like your book the lion who stole my arm and how he didn’t kill the lions in the end its like the BIG twist but I think at times pedru was a tiny bit stuborn when he still tried to kill the lion after all the agreement the villagers had made with the lion people so id rate it a five star ANY time !! THX – GiGi

    The Promise by Nicola Davies
I like this book because at the end you can see one nice city with lots of plants. But at the beginning of the book you just see a grey city without birds, plants, and with out animals. My favourite part of the book is when one girl returns the ugly city to a nice place again. I recommend this book to anyone who cares about the plants and animals in our world.

The Lion that Stole My Arm by Nicola Davies

This book is about Pedru, a boy who believes in revenge. Pedru lives in a village where he has a perfect life until one terrible night while he was walking a lion lept out and ripped his arm off. I think this is a terrific book! Well done Nicola Davies!
