A very successful (and thankfully dry!) sports day was had on Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th June. P5-7 took part in high jump, long jump, cricket ball throwing and 600m races on Monday. House and Vice captains picked teams to participate in each event and earn points for their houses. On Tuesday P1-7 participated in an afternoon of potted sports which culminated in the P5, 6 and 7 relay event. Pictured below are the P7 Douglas House Captain and Vice Captains who were the winning house! Well done to all the houses and children who took part – a marvellous sense of sportsmanship was felt all day!

P1/2 Trip to Butterfly World
On Tuesday 5th of June P1 and P2 visited Butterfly World and Vogrie Park. They had a hectic and very enjoyable day, learning about the butterflies and insects. They saw rows and rows of pupae and cocoons, including those of a giant moth.
They got to hold a giant millipede, a tarantula and a snake and saw leaf cutter ants going about their business. After lunch they explored the adventure playground at Vogrie Park.
Many thanks to all our parent helpers whose presence allowed the day to go smoothly.
Please take some time to read the children’s accounts of the day.
Café money update
We have received a letter and certificate from Oxfam thanking us for purchasing a toilet, water buckets and school dinners for a village. The Sick Kids have also telephoned to arrange a visit to say thank you for the money they received. Again, we thank you for your support.
