P7 in Barga!

Primary 7, Mrs MacFadyen, Mrs Jack, Mr Antenelli and Mrs Richardson all had a fantastic time in Italy. Barga was a beautiful hill top town, we did lots of walking and kept ourselves very fit as everywhere was on the top of a hill, to everyone’s delight!

We had lots of tasty local food! The children enjoyed home made pizza, ice-cream, pasta and much more!

The hotel we stayed in was very nice. It was a family run hotel and they were very kind to us! It was great to chill out on the roof terrace, not that we got much time to relax!

On the Wednesday we visited the town Lucca. This is an ancient town that is surrounded by a wall. We had pizza for lunch and did lots of shopping. We also sang in the main square and many people stopped to listen.

The concert that the children were involved in on the Friday evening went very well. The mayor of Barga came along to see the children perform and was very impressed! The singing and dancing was brilliant and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They all looked very smart in their white T-shirts.

  1. 24 students from the Longniddry Primary school in East Lothian Scotland are in Barga this week along with their Headmistress Catherine Jacks, two teachers, Stephanie McFadyen and Peter Antonelli and the Provost of East Lothian Mrs Sheena Richardson. They are here as part of the continuing cultural exchange between East Lothian and Barga that has been going on since 2007.
