National Nurture Conference – Murrayfield Stadium

Some of our pupil voice group represented the school today at the National Nurture Conference in Edinburgh. They presented the work we have been doing throughout the school to promote nurture with a focus on social, emotional and mental wellbeing.

They shared all the amazing work we have been doing. Some of the areas they spoke about were:

  • Creating our vision, values and aims
  • The development of our Child Friendly School Improvement Plan
  • Rights Respecting Schools
  • Celebrating Wider Achievement
  • Wellbeing Indicators – SHANARRI Fridays
  • Personal Learning Plans
  • The Power of Pupil Voice

They did an excellent job at sharing all the good work of the school and were positively commented on by many who attended the conference.

Numeracy Week 5th-9th February 2018

Welcome to Numeracy Week. We have a very exciting week ahead of us. This week is all about numbers. We hope everyone is busy completing their Numeracy Trail around the village.

Each day we will also be testing our estimation skills. Today we have to estimate: How many Lego pieces are in the red tube? Come along and have a close look.

We also look forward to Captain Morgan joining us tomorrow for our Numeracy challenge day. Remember to dress up as a pirate if you can!

It’s now so easy to find activities for young people with additional support needs!

Socks for the Street – December 2017

Today some members of the pupil voice group went along to Leith Primary School to deliver the socks that we collected. We had 290 pairs of socks to hand over. Thank you so much to everyone who made a donation, it really does make a huge difference!

We met Joseph Cox the boy who started the campaign and he was delighted with our donation. Already he has collected 1300 pairs, so with our healthy donation we have helped to raise his total to a staggering 1590 pairs of socks so far!

We really want to help local charities and causes, this is an important part of achieving our Rights Respecting Schools Level 1 award.

All Different, All Equal

As part of Anti Bullying Week we all wore odd socks to symbolise the fact that we are all different but all equal.  This week we have been looking at the ‘Respect Me’              Anti Bullying policy and we have been revisiting the SHANARRI wellbeing indicators.
