School Summer Fair

Friday, June 6th will be one of the busiest days of the school year. In the morning the School Sports Day takes place, and everyone is welcome to come along from 9am.   Our Nursery Sports Day will take place during the Morning and Afternoon Sessions on Tuesday 1st July.

Following the Sports Day, the Summer Fair will take place from 12-2 on Friday 6th. This is one of the biggest fundraising events of the year, and your support is always very welcome. We will have a large array of stalls and games, with hot food and cream teas available too.

A new event this year is the inaugural Great Loretto Bake-Off, where home baking donations can optionally be judged, with an attractive prize for the winner!

We are also looking for people to man stands and help with teas etc. for 30 minute slots of the Fair – again, please either speak to a class rep, reply to the email or pop into the office. Hope to see as many people there as possible, so spread the word.  Mrs Gaunt will be helping out in her usual way by manning the bottle stall!

Raffle tickets and tickets for a Loretto Cream Tea will be sold in advance, so keep an eye out for those.

Finally, the Parent Council AGM will be held on June 17th. We are always looking for more people to get involved, so if you’d like to find out more, please come along.

Remember to bring your wheels to nursery on Wednesday!

It is our annual Wheel-a-Thon on Wednesday 21st May.

Please can children bring a non-motorized trike, bike or scooter to nursery on Wednesday.  If you cannot manage this we have some nursery trikes and scooters that your child can borrow.

Hopefully the weather will be kind to us as we shall be riding around the school playground!

Sponsored Wheel-a-Thon

The Wheel-a-Thon will take place on Wednesday 21st May:

9.30 for the Morning Group/13.30 for the Afternoon Group

Please can children bring a non-motorized trike, bike or scooter to nursery on the day.  If you cannot manage this we have some neursery trikes and scooters that your child can borrow.

Money raised will go towards the payment for the bus for the East Links trip.  Many thanks for your donations.

East Links Trip

Please can the trip payment of £15 be made by Friday 16th May. We need to book the bus!

Part of the cost of the trip is met by the proceeds from our wheel-a-thon (the entry cost alone is almost £17 this year and the bus is on top of this) so all donations will be gratefully received.

This week at nursery (3 video clips)

It has been a short but busy week at nursery. Unfortunately the tadpoles died over the long weekend. We had lots of discussion with the children about why this might have happened, and decided not to replace them this year in case the same happened again.

We enjoyed playing outside in the warmer weather. Here is some video of the morning group:

And of the afternoon group:

The afternoon group also had good fun working together in the mud kitchen. In order to play in the mud and with the ‘big water’ outside, children have to wear waterproofs and wellies that they change into by themselves. Please help them to be able to do this by sending them to nursery in shoes/coats they can take off and put on all by themselves. Also please name your child’s clothing.
