Both Adventure Teds are enjoying their Christmas Holiday. They got very excited about opening presents on Christmas morning! They have been very good, and ate all their healthy vegetables (and a bit of chocolate too as a special treat!) They hope all the girls and boys had a great Christmas, and that Santa was kind to you all. See you all on Tuesday 6th January!

Nursery Christmas Parties
We had two very successful parties today, and were very lucky that Santa managed to make two visits to Loretto Nursery in one day! We had Gary James to entertain us with some magic, and as you can see by the photos from both groups, the children were entranced. We had some party food, then played some games before Santa arrived and he brought us all a present! Here are just a few of the photos that were taken today.
(As in previous years Mrs Gaunt will compile a CD of photos from both the show and party which will be available to order in January. This will include the photo of your child with Santa.)

Nursery Christmas Show
The children performed brilliantly at our Christmas Show today. Thank you to everyone for coming and watching. Here is a snippet of video for you to enjoy!
Christmas Jumper Day!
Today the children came to nursery wearing Christmas jumpers to raise money for cash for kids. Thank you for all your donations! We had Christmas Trees, Reindeers and Mrs Claus! We also had Polar Bears and Penguins but luckily a Polar Bear will never eat a Penguin! Have a look at our jumpers below!

Christmas Biscuits!
Today in the nursery we made biscuits for Christmas. We had great fun mixing, rolling and using Christmas tree and star cutters to cut out the biscuits. They smelled really yummy when they were cooking! We are going to decorate them later in the week and take them home as Christmas presents.
Here is the recipe for our cinnamon biscuits which are really easy to make:
Cream together 125g butter or margarine and 125g caster sugar. Beat in 1 egg. Mix in 250g plain flour and 2 tsp ground cinnamon until well combined. Roll out as thin as you can on a floured board and cut into shapes. Add more flour as necessary to stop it sticking. Bake at 180C for approx 10 minutes until firm and golden. Cool on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container when cold. You can decorate the biscuits with royal icing and silver balls or leave them plain.
Mission Christmas Jumper Day! Wednesday 10th December!
The school has registered for Christmas Jumper Day and we shall also be taking part in nursery! Please bring £1 to nursery and wear a Christmas Jumper if you would like to take part. “Join Cash for Kids on Wednesday 10th December for our Mission Christmas Jumper Day and help us make sure all children wake up to presents this Christmas! As part of our Mission Christmas Appeal we are asking local schools, businesses and individuals to wear their favourite Christmas Jumpers and donate £1 to Cash for Kids. Every donation will go to help local children this festive season.”
Christmas Crafts for sale in the Nursery
On Monday the children will set up a Christmas shop where they will sell the remaining Christmas crafts from the school fayre.
The Morning Groups shop will open at 11:30am and we shall open the nursery door at this time. The Afternoon Groups shop will be open at the beginning of the session on Monday afternoon.
In addition to the nursery crafts we shall be selling some of the other classes crafts and are hoping to sell the school calenders. The school calenders are priced at £3.50 and can also be purchased from the school office.
Any monies raised from the fayre are donated to school funds.
Christmas Show Arrangements
We hope that everyone is beginning to feel the festive spirit and are enjoying practising the songs for the show with your child. Please read the information below for the arrangements for the day of the Christmas show.
Christmas Show – Wednesday 17th December 2014 at 9:15 in the Gym Hall.
Both Morning Group and Afternoon Group perform together
The morning group should come to nursery through the normal nursery entrance at 8.30. It is important that they arrive on time as they need to get changed into costumes for the show.
The afternoon group children should be dropped off at the gym hall for 9:00 where staff will change them.
The show will take place in the gym hall. It will start at 9.15am and we expect to finish at approximately 9:45am. All parents, family and friends are welcome to come to the show.
At the end of the show;
* The morning group will return to the nursery to get changed and should stay for the remaining nursery session. Although, if you would like to collect your child after the show you may do so from the usual nursery door.
* The afternoon group will be taken back into the changing rooms where they will be changed by staff and dismissed from the gym hall when all the audience have left. This is to ensure all children are collected safely.
Each child will be provided with a festive tabard to wear on the day. You will find further information about this in your child’s pigeon hole.
If you have any further questions please ask a member of the nursery team.
Thank you for your continued support.
Christmas in the Nursery
Christmas has now begun at nursery. The children have loved exploring the festive decorations and learning about the Christmas story.
Missing Balance Bike
A wooden ‘balance bike’ has gone missing from our bike storage area just outside the nursery fence. This happened last week. Can you please check that it hasn’t been taken home in error by anyone collecting your child. If you have it, please let us know and return it as soon as possible. Thank you.
