Rhyme of the Week

This year we shall be continuing our ‘Rhyme of the Week’ but we shall have 10 core rhymes that we will repeat, rather than a different one for every week.  This will help the children to learn them really well, and develop their awareness of rhythm and rhyme.

You can help your child by singing or saying the rhymes together at home.  Don’t worry if you think that you can’t sing!  The important thing is spending time together and having fun.

Our first rhyme is ‘Humpty Dumpty’:

 Humpty Dumpty

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall,

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall,

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men,

Couldn’t put Humpty together again.
